JERMAINE PENNANT IS set to join the non-league galacticos of Billericay Town in the seventh-tier Bostik League Premier Division next season.
He has reportedly agreed a two-year deal worth around £3,000 a week, with the non-leaguers’ chairman Glenn Tamplin telling the Sun that they have beaten Scottish club Hibernian to sign Pennant.
The former Liverpool man will join former Premier League players Jamie O’Hara and Paul Konchesky who have already been lured to New Lodge by Tamplin’s investment.
“Jermaine will be a great signing and will help us get to where we want to go,” Tamplin said.
“We all know he is a top player. He is good mates with Jamie O’Hara and when he heard about what we are doing, he let (us) know he wanted to come here.”
Pennant, 34, was part of the Liverpool squad beaten by AC Milan in the 2007 Champions League final.
