John Muldoon out of Connacht's festive schedule with broken arm

Westerners’ skipper is facing another spell on the sidelines.

IN WHAT IS a major blow for the province, Connacht captain John Muldoon will miss the entire Christmas programme.

The 28-year-old back-rower broke his arm in Friday’s Amlin Challenge Cup defeat to Harlequins at the Sportsground.

It’s more misery for Muldoon; he fractured his arm when playing for Ireland against New Zealand in June.

The province say that further tests will be needed to determine the full extent of the injury.

A statement on the Connacht website reads:

Muldoon suffered a knock to his forearm on Friday evening against Harlequins and subsequent scans have revealed another fracture in the forearm of the talismanic number eight.

Whilst the injury looks certain to rule Muldoon out of this weekend’s clash with Munster the full extent of the injury will not be know until further tests have been carried out.’
