JOSE ALDO IS eager to get his much-anticipated UFC title fight with Conor McGregor rescheduled, having recovered from a rib injury.

The featherweight champion pulled out of the headline bout at UFC 189 with weeks to go, which resulted in Chad Mendes stepping in for the Brazilian. McGregor claimed a second round TKO victory over the Californian wrestler at the MGM Grand to win the interim belt, and the pair will finally go face-to-face in the octagon in the coming months.

My ribs are great,” Aldo told MMAjunkie.com. “I’ve already come back to practice. It’s now just time to wait for UFC to set the fight.

“I already had a strategy; the strategy was ready,” he added. “We only canceled the fight two weeks before. The strategy is ready. I think everything we practiced, we saw in Chad’s fight it would work. We have the path set for us and now we just have to enhance it.”
