KEVIN DOYLE MAY have missed Ireland’s recent World Cup qualifying double header through injury, but the striker was back in scoring form for his club last night.
The 33-year-old Wexford man, who was called up to the provisional squad by Martin O’Neill before being ruled out, notched twice in a 2-1 win for the Colorado Rapids over the San Jose Earthquakes.
His first, a brilliant diving header on 38 minutes, was added to from the penalty spot with 18 minutes on the clock as the Rapids moved to the top of MLS Western Conference.
They were Doyle’s fifth and six league goals of the season.
