Walsh and Warren lead the race to take over as Galway senior football manager

The Galway clubs only put forward two names to replace Alan Mulholland.

KEVIN WALSH AND Peter Warren will battle it out to replace the outgoing Alan Mulholland as Galway senior football manager.

The Galway County Board announced today that the duo were the only two nominated by the Galway football clubs to succeed Mulholland.

Twice an All-Ireland winner as a player, Walsh spent five years in charge of Sligo, stepping down as manager in 2013.

Warren was a selector under John O’Mahony for Galway’s All-Ireland wins 1998 and 2001. Both men will be interviewed for the position by the “Football Managers Selection”.

Meanwhile Padraic Joyce’s brother Tommy is among ten nominess to take over as the Galway minor manager.
