FIRST-HALF GOALS from Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao helped Manchester United beat Leicester City and go third in the Premier League table.

The pair started the day with just 11 league goals between them but scored one apiece in the space of five minutes to set Louis van Gaal’s men on their way to three points.

Van Persie opened the scoring on 27 minutes with the help of a lovely lofted pass from Dutch team-mate Daley Blind.

And when Angel di Maria’s shot was saved, Falcao was on hand to tap in United’s second in the 32nd minute.

An own goal from Leicester captain Wes Morgan made it 3-0 to the hosts at the break and Marcin Wasilewski’s late header was never likely to be more than consolation for the Foxes.
