Mistakes and entertainment galore in a superb first half at Old Trafford

Pep Guardiola’s side have been very, very impressive.

A DEFENSIVE SLIP from Manchester United gifted their local rivals an early lead at Old Trafford.

Kevin de Bruyne, who has had an outstanding first-half, made the most of Daley Blind’s hesitation and raced onto Kelechi Iheanacho’s flick-on before expertly giving David de Gea the eyes and sliding the ball to the bottom corner.

Eric Bailly didn’t cover himself in glory either as he was easily beaten in the air by City’s young striker.

United have been on the ropes for the majority of the opening period with de Bruyne, David Silva and Raheem Sterling all impressing.

Iheanacho tapped home a second from close range on 36 minutes after de Bruyne’s shot rebounded off the far post.

But, incredibly,  given how poor they’d been in the half, United pulled one back shortly before the break when Claudio Bravo’s horrendous handling error allowed Zlatan Ibrahimovic pounce on the loose ball and send an excellent finish to the net.
