James Cronin ruled out as Munster make six changes for Treviso

Anthony Foley’s side face the Pro12′s bottom side in Italy on Sunday afternoon.

THE MUNSTER TEAM that will aim to avoid a third consecutive defeat when they face Treviso at the Stadio Monigo in the Guinness Pro12 on Sunday afternoon (2.00pm) shows six changes from the side that lost away to Glasgow Warriors last weekend.

Ireland trio James Cronin, Tommy O’Donnell and Dave Foley were made available to Munster head coach Anthony Foley for this weekend’s fixture. However, Cronin won’t be involved as a result of a tight hamstring, while O’Donnell and Foley have been named among the replacements.

In the pack, O’Donnell’s place in the back-row is taken by Dave O’Callaghan. Donnacha Ryan hasn’t been included in the matchday squad due to international duty so Mark Chisholm starts in the second-row alongside captain Billy Holland. Mike Sherry returns at hooker at the expense of Niall Scannell, who drops down to the bench.

As for the backs, Francis Saili comes in at centre to replace David Johnston, who’s among the replacements. Neither Ronan O’Mahony nor Tomás O’Leary are in the squad, with Gerhard van den Heever and Duncan Williams taking their places on the wing and at scrum-half respectively.

Young prop Peter McCabe is in line to make his first competitive appearance for Munster after being named on the bench.
