Could the Honey Badger be going to the World Cup after all?

Nick Cummins has been drafted into the Wallabies squad.

WHEN AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCED their extended squad for this autumn’s Rugby World Cup, a lot of the focus was on those names not included, including that of Nick Cummins.

Well, there was good news for fans of the Honey Badger last night as he has received a late call-up to join Michael Cheika’s squad.

The Western Force winger was called in to replace Henry Speight who has withdrawn from the squad on compassionate grounds to return to Fiji where his grandfather died.

The ACT Brumbies man was due to join an Australian camp on Sunday, but instead returns to his country of birth.

While Cummins’ place in Cheika’s final World Cup squad is far from assured, he has a chance to impress during their upcoming Rugby Championship games with Argentina and South Africa.
