Dual star! Podge Collins helps Clare to two big wins in the space of 21 hours

The 24-year-old played a key role in both victories.

LESS THAN 24 HOURS after inspiring Clare to victory over Limerick, Podge Collins helped the county’s footballers crown a remarkable weekend.

The dual star has rediscovered his best form and guided Davy Fitzgerald’s side into the All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals with three points in last night’s win at Thurles.

And he came off the bench this afternoon to help Clare secure a famous win over Laois to keep their football championship campaign alive.

The 24-year-old, who only returned to both codes this year, was brought on to see the home side through to victory at Cusack Park.

It was just Clare’s fifth even win in 18 qualifiers as they join Sligo, Cavan and Derry in tomorrow’s Round 3A draw.
