Big Sam wants to hand Robbie Brady a Premier League return this month

The Crystal Palace manager is keen to sign one of Ireland’s most important players.

CRYSTAL PALACE BOSS Sam Allardyce has confirmed his interest in Ireland and Norwich City midfielder Robbie Brady.

Ex-Manchester United and Hull City man Brady, who is also comfortable at full-back, is plying his trade in the Championship at present but the Eagles are keen to sign the 24-year-old Dubliner.

“Somebody like Robbie Brady, I would say yes,” said Allardyce. “Anybody like that, if the club says they are available.

“Maybe a centre-half is something we will look at, but for the moment a left-back is our main priority.

I am looking first and foremost for a left-back from this country with Premier League experience.”

Former England manager Allardyce was named Palace boss on 23 December, and looks set to strengthen in the January transfer window.

Palace, who face Arsenal this afternoon, sit 17th in the Premier League table — just two points clear of the relegation zone having lost ten of their 18 games.
