FOOTBALL ICON RONALDO is set to buy out newly-promoted La Liga club Real Valladolid according to reports in Spain.
Radio MARCA’s T4 programme revealed last week that the Brazilian was in advanced talks to become the club’s majority shareholder, and El Larguero are now reporting that the 41-year-old has agreed a fee of €30m to become the club’s majority shareholder.
‘O Fenômeno’ will become club president according to the latter, with the incumbent Carlos Suarez transitioning into the role of chief executive where he will still oversee the day-to-day running of the club.

The Spanish top-flight club has been on the verge of being taken over for the bones of a year, but a previous agreement with Mexican businessman Ernesto Tinajero collapsed following an internal dispute between Suarez and vice presidents Jose Luis Losanda and Jose Moro.
Ronaldo is currently a Real Madrid ambassador, but his €30m investment would wipe out Valladolid’s current debt which is believed to be in the region of €5m less.
