49 years, 10 World Cups, 10 Olympics: It's time to re-watch RTÉ's 2014 tribute to Billo

The legendary broadcaster died on Monday aged 76.

WARM TRIBUTES ARE being paid this afternoon to the legendary broadcaster Bill O’Herlihy, who has died at the age of 76.

An Irish institution, O’Herlihy spent almost five decades with RTÉ Sport — spanning 10 World Cups and 10 Olympic Games — before his retirement in the summer of 2014.

RTÉ produced this emotional tribute to mark the occasion. It captures everything that was great about the man who was known to the nation, simply, as Billo.
