Sheffield Wednesday's Marco Matias has already wrapped up goal of the weekend

A stupendous volley from the Portuguese striker fired the Owls in front in their Championship game with Leeds this afternoon.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY ARE drawing 1-1 at Elland Road thanks to a goal worthy of winning any match.

On 37 minutes, the Leeds defence didn’t look to be in too much trouble when Owls forward Marco Matias flicked the ball over Lee Cooper’s head and smashed a volley in off the crossbar.

It was the 20th anniversary of Tony Yeboah’s famous strike against Liverpool yesterday, and the former Leeds striker would have been proud of an effort like this.
