The 10 best tries scored in the Six Nations this year

It wasn’t the most entertaining championship but there was no shortage of stand-out moments.

THERE WERE 71 tries scored in the Six Nations over the last 15 games. Some were good, some were ugly, all were the product of hard forward graft, but these here are the pretty ones.

Vakatawa v Italy

A great example of how a brilliant finish can turn a run-of-the-mill build-up in to a superb try. We just love that big step off the left boot (and touchline).

Joseph v Italy

Jonathan Josephe scored a hat-trick against Italy, but Danny Care’s effortless chip through to set up this one was our favourite.

Taylor v Wales

The Saracens centre is a marvellous addition to Vern Cotter’s as he brings another long-range scoring threat with his excellent balanced running style that throws defenders.

Visser v France

Tim Visser has the points to his name, but all the execution plaudits go to Stuart Hogg for his audacious overhead mid-air pass.

Seymour v Italy

Another day, another brilliant piece of skill from Stuart Hogg to send Tommy Seymour in.

From Simon Zebo’s offload in Ballina, Jared Payne’s run down the Wild Atlantic Way, Jonathan Sexton’s pass across the mouth of the Shannon, Andrew Trimble’s jink into Tipperary and Jamie Heaslip’s finish in Tramore, we loved it all.

Hogg v Ireland

Hogg demonstrated all his attacking flair to collect Conor Murray’s kick, spot the weak link in the defensive line, scythe through it and turn on the after burners to run in a 55m try.

North v Italy

Wales were running the Italians ragged at this stage but North, just like Hogg did in Dublin, carved through the defence and sh

Watson v France

It was the try which sealed the Grand Slam for England. The imperious Vunipola made the initial break, charging through midfield, before Ben Youngs darted away from the ruck, played a perfect grubber through to Watson for the winger to finish brilliantly in the corner.
