Sports Illustrated name Robbie Keane best MLS import ever

The Irish international is set to feature, as LA Galaxy take on Chicago Fire at 3am Irish time tomorrow.

IRELAND’S ROBBIE KEANE is the best MLS import ever according to some of the US’ top sports journalists.

In a panel discussion among Sports Illustrated writers Grant Wahl, Brian Straus, Jeff Bradley and Alexander Abnos, Keane gets plenty of praise.

Abnos names the Irish footballing legend as the best foreign signing in league history, while Wahl says he’s the best foreign Designated Player signing.

Meanwhile, Straus, while acknowledging that David Beckham made more of an impact on the league, suggests Keane is the better player.

The Tallaght native also earns a spot in Wahl’s all-time best MLS XI.
