Cormier in confrontation with Lesnar after becoming UFC's second two-weight champ

Daniel Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic to emulate Conor McGregor’s achievement by winning a second belt.

DANIEL CORMIER AND Brock Lesnar were involved in an altercation last night which came straight from the WWE playbook.

Cormier became just the second fighter — following in the footsteps of Conor McGregor — to hold two UFC belts simultaneously when he ended the reign of Stipe Miocic, who had previously set the record for heavyweight title defences.

The 39-year-old former Olympic wrestler, who was already the light-heavyweight champion, knocked out his fellow American late in the first round of the main event at UFC 226 in Las Vegas.

Afterwards, Cormier laid the foundations for a fight against Lesnar by calling out the former UFC heavyweight champion and current WWE star, who was in attendance at the T-Mobile Arena.

Lesnar — whose win over Mark Hunt in his last MMA fight in July 2016 was overturned when he tested positive for a banned substance — then entered the octagon to bring a professional wrestling-style conclusion to proceedings.
