Trimble returns from injury and Pienaar starts at out-half for Ulster's trip to RDS

The Ireland winger is named in Les Kiss’ side for Saturday’s interpro.

ANDREW TRIMBLE HAS recovered from the foot injury he sustained during Ireland’s November internationals to be named in Ulster’s starting XV for tomorrow’s Guinness Pro12 clash with Leinster.

The winger will make his first appearance since the defeat of Australia in November on New Year’s Eve at the RDS as the northern province look to end their miserable record in Dublin.

Ulster have recorded just one win against Leinster in the capital since 1999 but Les Kiss has been able to name a strong side for Saturday’s interpro [KO 3pm, Sky Sports 2].

Paul Marshall, Darren Cave and Tommy Bowe all start after coming off the bench against Connacht last week while Marshall’s inclusion at scrum-half means Ruan Pienaar switches to out-half.

The IRFU’s player management protocols means Paddy Jackson, Rory Best, Iain Henderson and Luke Marshall have been given the weekend off.

Rob Herring will skipper the side from hooker and he is partnered in the front row by Andy Warwick and Rodney Ah You, both of whom have been retained from the win over Connacht.

Tighthead prop Jonny Simpson could make his first senior appearance for the province if called upon and is named on the bench alongside the likes of Jacob Stockdale and Louis Ludik.

Ulster currently sit fourth in the Pro12 standings but can reduce the gap between themselves and third-placed Leinster with a famous victory tomorrow afternoon.
