HE MAY NOT have kicked a ball at Euro 2016, but Will Grigg has gained fame over the past month thanks to Northern Ireland’s favourite chant.
Will Grigg’s On Fire, sung to 90s dance anthem Freed From Desire by Gala, took France by storm, but the Wigan Athletic striker didn’t feature in any of the four games Michael O’Neill’s side played at the tournament.
However, the 24-year-old has caught the eye of Hamburg fans, who have started an online petition to sign him.
Supporters of the Bundesliga club state that Grigg is worth around €1.5 million but add that they would bring in several times that in merchandising due to his international reputation.
