Blood, sweat and tears in the UFC and elsewhere: The MMA year in pictures

Skip forward to August – fans flocked to Vegas for UFC 202 as McGregor sought revenge on Diaz

But got down to business (in a questionable coat) at the UFC 205 press conference in Madison Square Garden

Lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez was the man standing between McGregor and history

The Notorious came out on top, becoming the UFC’s first dual-weight champion

And of course McGregor was there to cheer on Lobov and help his training partner celebrate his victory
