Aguero injury takes shine off City win

Plus Edin Dzeko has something to tell you.

MANCHESTER CITY STRIKER Sergio Aguero is expected to miss his side’s upcoming fixtures against Watford and Arsenal after suffering a hamstring injury this afternoon.

Aguero pulled up shortly after scoring City’s third in the 3-0 home win over Stoke City and was replaced by Carlos Tevez with 13 minutes remaining.

Goals either side of half time from Pablo Zabaleta and Edin Dzeko – who as booked for revealing this ‘happy new year’ message on his t-shirt – had already put the champions in a commanding position before the Argentina added the third from the spot.

Post match, Aguero tweeted that he will rest for 48 hours before tests determine the full extent of the injury.

Questions may be asked of manager Roberto Mancini, as Aguero has played 90 minutes in each of the five games in December before succumbing to injury today.
