ÁINE DONEGAN HOLDS a share of the clubhouse lead at the PIF London Championship on the Ladies European Tour.
The Ennis native fired a second-round 69 to close on seven-under after the morning’s action at the Centurion Club.
Following an opening-round 70, Donegan got off to a fast start with five birdies between the third and eighth holes to reach eight-under. A bogey at the ninth saw her make the turn in 33 strokes.
The 24-year-old completed the back-nine in 36, with birdies at the 13th and 17th sandwiching bogeys at 14 and 16.

Donegan, whose best finish in her rookie year on tour is a tie for 16th at February’s New South Wales Open, holds a share of the lead with Australian pro Kelsey Bennett.
After contrasting rounds, the other Irish competitors, Sara Byrne and Anna Foster, are in line to make the weekend on one-over, which is currently two shots inside the projected cut.
Byrne was on four-over before closing with three birdies in her final six holes to get inside the cut with a 72.
Foster had reached three-under with an eagle on 18, her ninth hole of the day, before dropping five shots in her next five holes. She secured her place with a birdie at the ninth, her final hole.
The $2 million (€1.73m) prize fund places the PIF London Championship among the most lucrative tournaments on the tour.
