DROGHEDA UNITED leapfrogged opponents Derry City in the Premier Division with a 2-0 win at home to the Candystripes, who finished the game with 10 men at Hunk Dorys Park.

Goals from Ryan Brennan and Brian Gannon in either half handed Mick Cooke’s side their second win on the trot after Barry Molloy saw red for a second bookable offence on 75 minutes.

At Turner’s Cross, Tadgh Purcell took just three minutes to put Cork City in front of Bray when he latched onto Daryl Hogan’s pass and dinked the ball over the head of Darren Quigley.

However, the Seagulls struck level with 16 minutes remaining through veteran striker Jason Byrne and held on for a share of the spoils.

In our featured liveblog, league leaders Shamrock Rovers kept up their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over city rivals Bohemians.

This wasn’t a vintage performance from Stephen Kenny’s side by any means and it took them 79 minutes to break the deadlock. The goal finally arrived when Gary Twigg took hold of Ronan Finn’s cross to notch his fifth goal of the season.

Billy Dennehy sealed the victory late on after a good move involving substitutes Gary O’Neill and Daryl Kavanagh.

Goals from Daniel Ledwith, Cillian Morrison and Paul O’Connor helped UCD to a narrow 3-2 win over Monaghan United at the Belfield Bowl.

After a scoreless first half, the Students went in front but Ledwith’s strike was cancelled out by a Conor Murphy equaliser in the 70th minute.

They then added two more before Jordan Keegan pulled one back for Mons in injury time.

In the evening’s late kick off, Shelbourne and St Pat’s saw out a 1-1 draw at Tolka Park.

22 minutes in, Brendan McGill struck a cracking volley which came back off the bar and hit Saints keeper Brendan Clarke before crossing the line but Shels striker Christy Fagan earned Alan Mathews’ team a point.
