Aisling Daly's UFC return on hold as she's ruled out of Michelle Waterson bout

The Irish fighter hasn’t competed since last October when she overcame Ericka Almeida in Dublin.

AISLING DALY IS out of her scheduled bout against Michelle Waterson.

According to MMAjunkie, who confirmed the news with UFC officials, an injury has forced Daly to withdraw from her strawweight meeting with Waterson.

The fight was due to take place at UFC Fight Night in Hamburg on 3 September, which will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett.

Daly (16-6) would have been aiming for her third win in the UFC. The 28-year-old Straight Blast Gym product overcame Ericka Almeida last October in Dublin.

That win saw Daly — who debuted in the UFC in December 2014 with a first-round submission of Alex Chambers — bounce back from a loss against Rando Markos.

John Morgan reports that the UFC are currently searching for a new opponent for Waterson.
