Arsenal tell Barca to put up or shut up over Cesc
Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has warned Barcelona that their indecisive bargaining style could cost them a shot of landing Cesc Fabregas.

VENTING HIS FRUSTRATION at what Arsenal executives feel has been an unnecessarily lengthy and disruptive courting of Cesc Fabregas by Barcelona, Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has lashed out at the Catalan club’s bargaining strategy.

An article by David Woods of the Daily Star quotes the executive as saying:

“They have been messing about for a year and a half now and they have got to make up their minds…

“If they want to buy the player they are going to have to pay the right price… I don’t think what we are asking is at all unreasonable.”

Though Hill isn’t quoted, a separate story in the Daily Mirror claims the London club have imposed a deadline of August 5th on negotiations relating to their increasingly apathetic captain.

Running the risk of losing the services of both Fabregas and Samir Nasri this season, the Gunners are scouting a number of creative midfield replacements, with Valencia’s Juan Mata currently topping the list.
