WHILE AUSTRALIA MAY have shown signs of mental weakness and a lack of creativity as they lost 20-13 to England at Twickenham this afternoon, they did manage to score one good try through inside centre Matt Toomua.
The move started from a rare solid Australian scrum, allowing Quade Cooper’s excellent pass to release the ever-dangerous fullback Israel Folau. Patient phases followed before the 89kg Toomua bashed through a weak tackle from his opposite number, 100kg Gloucester man Billy Twelvetrees.
There weren’t too many other incisive attacking plays from Ewan McKenzie’s men over the course of the afternoon, but they do have the individual players to cause Ireland problems on the 16th of this month in Dublin.
