REAL MADRID SENSATIONALLY ended Barcelona’s 39-game unbeaten run with a 2 – 1 win over their rivals and runaway league leaders in Camp Nou.
After falling behind to a Gerard Pique header, Karim Benzema adjusted his body brilliantly to react to a deflected cross to pull Real Madrid level at a goal apiece in the 62nd minute.
The goal sparked Madrid into overdrive and they had a Gareth Bale headed goal disallowed for a perceived foul before Sergio Ramos was sent off with a second yellow card.
The 10-men were undeterred though, and took the lead through this Cristiano Ronaldo finish with six minutes remaining.
