The Blackpool starting XI for today's friendly with Penrith is a real family-affair

5 un-named trialists feature in the side after club lost 27 players since the end of last season.

JUST THREE YEARS AGO, Blackpool were scaling the dizzy heights of the Premier League. Now, they are so short on players that they’ve been left to rely on trialists to fulfil pre-season fixtures.

The Championship side, who narrowly avoided the drop last term, have lost 27 players since the end of the season and have been left with just eight contracted members of the playing staff.

Jose Riga is the club’s latest manager, having been appointed in June. He’s become the fifth coach of the side in two years.
