ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY Ireland, in association with EBIS (European Brain Injury Society), will host a ‘Brain Injury and Sport’ conference in Dublin this December.

The launch of the event took place at the Aviva Stadium on Lansdowne Road this afternoon, with Michael Darragh Macauley and Rory O’Carroll in attendance.

The conference itself will take place at the Aviva on Friday the 13th of December, with a panel of expert speakers to discuss the growing concern surrounding concussion and head injury in sport. Newstalk broadcasters George Hook and Ger Gilroy will chair the meeting, with several renowned speakers set to feature.

Chris Nowinski, Dr. Barry O’Driscoll, Mark McGovern, Dessie Farrell, Brian Kerr and Professor John Ryan are just a handful of the names who will deliver speeches at the conference, with the aim of increasing awareness and education of concussion and presenting best practice concussion management to a wide audience of coaches, clinicians, players, and anyone involved in an elite or non-elite sporting environment.
