Baseball crazyman Brian Wilson says he eats 60 eggs a week

Yes, it seems like an awful lot of eggs, but who are we to argue?

FILE THIS ONE under “useless Brian Wilson trivia.”

Following the launch of a new book titled Diamond Dishes: From the Kitchens of Baseball’s Biggest Stars, Kate Krader of Food & Wine magazine went digging for info on the dietary habits of some of the MLB’s marquee names.

There, she stumbled across an ESPN interview with the eccentric San Francisco Giants closer from 2008 – back before he cultivated the best beard ever seen and thus became a national celebrity.

“I probably eat between 54 and 60 eggs a week,” Wilson told ESPN, possibly unaware that a small family would go through less eggs in a month.

The secret to Wilson’s success, if you want to call it that, is a rather substantial egg-white omelette every morning.

“For breakfast I’ll usually make an eight egg-white omelette with bell peppers, shredded cheese, and slices or ham and turkey ripped up.

“For a month period, I will have nothing but different styled omelettes in the morning, but then my body will adapt to it and then doesn’t really utilize it well so I’ve got to switch up.”
