'You don't know about the disqualification?' - Spanish athlete finds out he's won gold on TV

His stunned reaction makes it.

SPANISH ATHLETE BRUNO Hortelano was beaming as he made his way through the mixed zone at the European Athletics Championships last night.

He had just produced one of the best performances of his young career to win silver in the men’s 200m final in Amsterdam in a time of 20.45 – but things were about to get a lot better.

As he began his interview with a Dutch television station, it quickly became clear that the 24-year-old was unaware that he’d actually been upgraded to gold following the disqualification of Churandy Martina for a lane infringement.

His reaction is TV gold.
