PREPARATIONS AMONG IRELAND’s German community ahead of Saturday’s Champions League are in full flow

Last week, we posted a picture of the Borussia Dortmund flag hanging outside the German Embassy in Booterstown, Dublin, which was put up as a trial before the meeting of Dortmund and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich at Wembley on Saturday.

They have since been sent the opposing flag from the Bavarian giants (see pic below) and will have both on display for the game.

On Saturday next, for the first time ever two Bundesliga clubs will battle it out for the European football crown,” a statement from the Embassy reads. “In anticipation of the match the two clubs presented the Embassy with their authentic flags.”

In conjunction with the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce, they will also host a screening of the game at the Dublin Hilton Hotel in Dublin 2 so if you want to enjoy Bratwurst and a couple of yards of ale in what should be a brilliant atmosphere, go to the Embassy’s website or their Facebook page.
