Don't do this if you've just bought new golf clubs

No albatross in South Africa yesterday but this road shot was pretty good.

IT’S DEFINITELY NOT a shot to attempt if you’ve just purchased a shiny new set of golf clubs but full credit to Charl Schwartzel for taking on this road shot during the third round of Volvo Golf Champions event in South Africa.

After driving the ball miles left, Schwartzel didn’t do what most of us would have tried, a hack back into the fairway in the hope of making par. Instead, the South African hit a blind shot to within a few feet of the hole and recorded a birdie proving that he who dares does indeed win.

As for the event itself, 11 holes into his final round, Ireland’s Padraig Harrington sits just two shots back from leader Branden Grace on -8.
