WE’VE ALL SEEN Brian O’Driscoll’s spectacular between-the-legs pass to Fergus McFadden in the build-up to Sean O’Brien’s try for Ireland against Samoa. But there was an equally stunning piece of skill in the All Blacks clash with France on Saturday.
With the French defence seemingly in good shape, Kiwi wing Charles Piutau drew in two defenders, took the tackle and then offloaded out the back of the hand for the supporting Kieran Read to score in the left-hand corner. It was a superb flash of ability from the ‘Auckland Express’, who gets better every time he plays for the All Blacks.
Ireland will be up against this kind of skill in two weekends’ time, but we have a few tricks up our own sleeve.
