LET’S SHAKE ON it. Andre Villas-Boas is the new Chelsea manager.
Stamford Bridge officials today confirmed the appointment of the former Porto coach.
The 33-year-old has signed a three-year contract with in west London after resigning from his post with the Europa League champions yesterday. He’ll begin work immediately.
A statement on the Chelsea website read: “Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job. He is one of the most talented young managers in football today and has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time.”
Porto confirmed last night that Villas-Boas’ release clause had been triggered by the payment of around €15million by the Blues.
