Christy Fagan scoops PFAI Player of the Year

Dundalk’s Daryl Horgan and Stephen Kenny were also winners at last night’s ceremony at the Gibson Hotel.

ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC STRIKER Christy Fagan has been named PFAI Player of the Year for 2014.

The Saints striker scored 20 league goals and two more in the FAI Cup final to end the club’s 53-year wait to win the competition.

Fagan beat Dundalk pair Richie Towell and Patrick Hoban and Cork City midfielder Colin Healy to claim the award for the first time in his career.

At last night’s event at the Gibson Hotel in Dublin, Lilywhites winger Daryl Horgan won Young Player of the Year while Stephen Kenny was named Manager of the Year after winning the title with the Louth club.

First Division Player of the Year went to Longford Town’s David O’Sullivan.
