Cian Healy unsure of Brian O'Driscoll plans after today's 6 Nations finale

‘He could go on for a few years so it is however his body feels at the end of it.’

IRELAND PROP Cian Healy is unsure about the future of veteran centre Brian O’Driscoll amid rumours of an impending retirement.

O’Driscoll, 34, has been named in Ireland’s starting 15 for their last Six Nations match against Italy on Saturday in what could be the final game of his glittering 14-year international career. Speaking about the former captain, Healy said it was impossible to predict his next move.

“We have joked with him (O’Driscoll) about it but you never know with him. He could go on for a few years so it is however his body feels at the end of it,” Healy said.

Ireland have endured a disappointing Six Nations campaign with their only win coming against Wales in the tournament’s first week. But Healy insists motivation is still high as they look to close out their campaign on a winning note in Rome.

“It means a lot for me to play for my country against any country,” he said. “This is the final game of this tournament against Italy in Rome and there are a lot of Irish over here. It is a big weekend, there is a lot of positivity around so it is hyping up to be a good game and I am looking forward to it.”
