Kilduff named alongside Totti in Uefa's Europa League Team of the Week

The Dundalk centre forward is in good company.

DUNDALK STRIKER CIARAN Kilduff added to his growing reputation last night with the decisive goal in their 1-0 win over Maccabi  Tel Aviv.

The Kildare native, who celebrated his 28th birthday yesterday, came off the bench to direct Daryl Horgan’s cross into the back of the net on 72 minutes.

It’s his second goal in the Europa League group stages after scoring the equaliser against AZ Alkmaar. What makes the story even more impressive is that Kilduff was sidelined with a broken vertabrae in his back earlier this season.

The strike has earned him a place alongside the likes of Roma legend Francesco Totti, Italian international Domenico Criscito of Zenit St Petersburg, German defender Benedikt Howedes and Genk wonderkid Leon Bailey in Uefa’s official Team of the Week.
