Ciaran Sheehan shines again for Carlton but can't prevent AFL loss to Geelong

Former Cork footballer delivered another eye-catching performance.

AFTER AN IMPRESSIVE AFL debut for Carlton against Gold Coast last weekend, former Cork footballer Ciaran Sheehan put in another sterling performance against high-flying Geelong.

It looked like the 23 year-old would get to taste a second successive victory as the Navy Blues led 76-75 with four and a half minutes left in the final quarter. But, from a controversially-awarded free-kick, Allen Christensen kicked a goal for the Cats before they added a behind shortly after to claim a six-point 82- 76 win right at the death.

Carlton named an unchanged team from the one that trounced Gold Coast by 39 points last Saturday which meant Sheehan and fellow Irishman Zach Tuohy were in from the start.

Sheehan claimed 2 marks and was on the ball quite a lot, registering 12 kicks. And he bettered his ‘disposals’ rate too, finding a team-mate 15 times in comparison to 13 last weekend.
