THE SUPER BOWL (and the couple of minutes that it was a contest) are a distant memory, NFL fans. But don’t worry, a new season is just around a six-month corner.
So don’t just mope around the house, get a load of these rookies that will be gracing your Sunday nights next season.
First up, Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel yesterday took on the 40-yard dash and powered home in 4.68 seconds.
There were three QBs faster than ‘Johnny Football’ (Logan Thomas, Stephen Morris and Connor Shaw), but it was just .05 second slower than Colin Kaepernick’s 2011 Combine time of 4.63.
Today, all eyes were on Jadeveon Clowney and the defensive end made a huge impression at the 40.
The South Carolina star is 6′ 5″, 120 KGs and delivered a time of 4.53 seconds at the sprint. Not only was he faster than every quarterback at the Combine, but also over half of the running backs and a handful of wide receivers.
Here’s Clowney’s 40 with both Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton super-imposed along side – it’s blurry at first, but you’ll get the idea by the finish line.
