THE RUGBY WORLD Cup is down to the knockout stages and this Saturday sees Joe Schmidt’s side face the ultimate test.

If the Kiwi is to take Ireland to the semi-finals for the first time in their history before stepping down from his role, he must overcome his nation of birth — and the reigning world champions — New Zealand in Tokyo this weekend.

It’s a huge ask, but the optimistic fans among us will point to Ireland’s unforgettable victories over the All Blacks in 2016 and 2018.

Ahead of this massive game, we’re giving away an Ireland rugby jersey, which is signed by the team. The42‘s latest competition is once again with thanks to Volkswagen, who are sponsoring our 2019 Rugby World Cup coverage.

Congratulations to Rory Tynan from Newbridge, who won our matchday brunch for 10 people after correctly entering last week’s giveaway

To be in with a chance of getting your hands on the signed shirt, simply email or comment below with the answer to the following question:

Who is Ireland’s all-time record try-scorer at the World Cup?

The competition will close at 5pm on Friday evening and a winner will then be randomly picked.

Volkswagen has been proud sponsors of Irish Rugby since 2011, and is also rugby partner to The42 during the 2019 World Cup. For more, visit
