Hourihane's stunning free-kick the difference after Murphy pegged Villa back

Two Ireland internationals were on target in today’s late Championship game.

TWO IRELAND INTERNATIONALS scored within eight minutes of each other at Villa Park this evening, but it was Conor Hourihane who made the headlines with a stunning match-winning free kick.

After Albert Adomah had given Aston Villa a first half lead, Daryl Murphy got Nottingham Forest back on level terms after the ball had fallen in his path off international team-mate Glenn Whelan.

Murphy — who is now looking like a real bargain at just £2 million — clinically finished low past Villa ‘keeper Sam Johnstone for his fifth goal in Forest colours, before Hourihane stole the show and the points with a perfectly-executed free.

The Cork native has now scored four league goals this term and victory leaves Steve Bruce’s side in ninth place in the Championship standings.
