CORK SENIOR PLAYERS Daniel Kearney and Patrick Kelly landed GAA club awards last night after helping their respective clubs to win county senior titles this year.
Kearney, a member of the Sarsfields team that narrowly lost the AIB Munster senior semi-final on Sunday against Limerick’s Kilmallock, recently helped his club win their fourth Cork SHC title in seven seasons.
He was named the ‘Hurler of the Year’ award at the Reardens Club Allstar awards, which took place last night in Cork.
Cork senior footballer Patrick Kelly, who will be in action when Ballincollig take on Austin Stacks in next Sunday’s AIB Munster senior football semi-final, won the ‘Footballer of the Year’ award. Kelly helped Ballincollig win their first county senior football title this year.
RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey was the MC for last night’s event which also saw Mourenabbey’s Marie O’Callaghan and Milford’s Maria Watson win awards.
