OFTEN IMITATED, NEVER duplicated.

In a career weighed down by moments of footballing genius, this was arguably Johan Cruyff’s finest.

At the 1974 World Cup, the Dutch master gifted the watching world a move so brilliant that it could only be named after his creator.

The dubious honour of being the man on the receiving end of the “Cruyff Turn” fell to Swedish defender Jan Olsson, a man who never even saw the famous sleight of foot as he was still moving in the opposite direction as it happened.

As the sporting world mourns the loss of the legendary Cruyff, who died on Thursday aged 68 following a battle with cancer, this is one highlight that will be replayed over and over again.
