MUNSTER AND IRELAND hooker Damien Varley performed this excellent rendition of Lean on Me during RTÉ’s The Saturday Night Show over the weekend, dedicating the song to the Pink Ribbon charity, which aims to promote awareness and raise funds for breast cancer.

Varley revealed his love for singing and performing in an entertaining interview with host Brendan O’Connor. The 30-year-old also got the guitar out and sang Christy Moore’s Ordinary Man, before discussing Munster’s happiness after their win in Glasgow on Friday night.

The main event was Varley’s performance of Lean on Me with the Killaloe Ballina Gospel Choir, who the Munster man has joined in producing a CD to raise funds for Pink Ribbon. He is now hoping that the song could be a Christmas number one.
