CONOR MCNAMARA HAS found himself in the firing line of late and even a return to what he knows best hasn’t spared him.
The Limerick-born commentator was back on the football circuit on Monday after spending six weeks as the voice of TV3′s Rugby World Cup coverage.
At half-time in Tottenham’s win over Aston Villa, a couple of former players took part in a crossbar challenge on the White Hart Lane pitch.
McNamara tweeted this shortly after:
Anderton, who currently does charity work for the club, suffered a litany of injuries during his career and was the butt of constant jokes about his fitness. He even picked up the ‘sicknote’ nickname along the way.
And it appears the wounds are still raw for the former England midfielder who didn’t take kindly to McNamara’s claim.
It took him a couple of days but this was Anderton’s angry riposte:
