Ex-Cork hurler Sweetnam makes magnificent try-saving tackle for Munster

Fijian sevens player Simeli Taqeya may have regretted his decision to slow up.

THERE’S NO SUCH thing as a lost cause.

So Munster wing Darren Sweetnam proved with his last-ditch tackle on Simeli Taqeya of Fijian side Daveta during their Cup quarter-final at the Limerick World Club 7s at Thomond Park yesterday.

Having been burned on the outside by Taqeya, former Cork hurler Sweetnam recovered excellently to get back and halt the slowing Fijian. Unfortunately, the good story was ruined as Sweetnam was sin binned for not releasing in the tackle, before Daveta went on to record a 12-10 victory and eventually win the competition outright.
