Horgan named on the bench for Preston's FA Cup tie against Arsenal

But two Ireland internationals do start for the Lilywhites.

FORMER DUNDALK STAR Daryl Horgan has been included in Preston’s matchday squad for the first time, ahead of the Championship side’s FA Cup tie against Arsenal. However, there is no place for teammate Andy Boyle.

But Greg Cunningham will start in defence for the Lilywhites, with fellow Ireland international Aiden McGeady, on-loan from Everton, named in midfield.

Horgan is joined on the bench by former Cork City midfielder Alan Browne and ex-Sligo Rovers striker Eoin Doyle.

Meanwhile, Danny Welbeck returns to the fold for the Gunners and is included on the bench by Arsene Wenger.

Preston: Maxwell, Vermijl, Clarke, Huntington, Cunningham, Gallagher, Pearson, Johnson, McGeady, Robinson, Hugill.

Subs: Lindegaard, Spurr, Browne, Pringle, Horgan, Doyle and Makienok.

Arsenal: Ospina, Maitland-Niles, Mustafi, Gabriel, Monreal, Xhaka, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamerlain, Iwobi, Lucas, Giroud.

Subs: Martinez, Jenkinson, Holding, Reine-Adelaide, Dasilva, Willock, Welbeck.
