Declan Kidney mixes it up for Barbarians game tomorrow

Ronan O’Gara to skipper the side in Gloucester ahead of the trip to New Zealand this week.

RONAN O’GARA WILL skipper an experimental looking Ireland side against the Barbarians tomorrow.

Five uncapped players have been included in the starting XV with Craig Gilroy and Simon Zebo on the wings.

Up front Brett Wilkinson and Declan Fitzpatrick will line out on either side of Mike Sherry in an uncapped front row.

Keith Earls gets his chance to impress at full back ahead of the squad’s departure for New Zealand later this week while Ulster’s Paddy Wallace and Darren Cave form the centre partnership.

Ireland head coach Declan Kidney is set to finalise his 29-man squad after the Barbarians fixture for next month’s tour of New Zealand. Declan Kidney’s side will face the world champions in Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton between 9-23 June. No caps are on offer for the game with the Baa-Baas.

The full team is: K Earls, C Gilroy, D Cave, P Wallace, S Zebo, R O’Gara, C Murray, B Wilkinson, M Sherry, D Fitzpatrick, D Tuohy, D Ryan, J Muldoon, C  Henry, P O’Mahony.

Replacements: R Best, R Loughney, D O’Callaghan, J Coughlan, P Marshall, N Spence, A Trimble.
