Springbok veteran Deon Fourie called up for All Blacks series

The 39-year-old is returning after a long spell out through injury.

SPRINGBOK COACH RASSIE Erasmus has called up veteran utility forward Deon Fourie for the four-Test series against New Zealand kicking off this month.

The 39-year-old Fourie, who is a loose forward and hooker, is returning to the game following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury.

His last Test for the Springboks was the 2023 World Cup Final against New Zealand in Paris, which the South Africans won 12-11.

The Rugby World Cup-winner scored a try against the All Blacks on Friday in the visitors’ tour opening win over the Stormers.

The Test series kicks off on 22 August.

The Springboks travelled back from Argentina in two groups on Sunday and Monday after a 17-10 victory against the Pumas.
